About the Role

The Director, Technical Accounting will manage the end-to-end accounting for complex revenue arrangements, serving as a key resource in assessing the accounting treatment of new and evolving revenue transactions across the Company's operations. This role also encompasses research, evaluation, and documentation of current and emerging accounting issues, asset capitalization, impairment assessments, leasing transactions, business combinations, and financial reporting matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process for complex revenue arrangements.
  • Design and refine processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in revenue recognition.
  • Identify and evaluate new revenue transactions, determining appropriate accounting treatment and communicating impacts.
  • Research, analyze, and document all significant technical accounting matters.
  • Manage specific elements of the Company's quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Act as an advisor to executives on technical accounting questions.
  • Establish new accounting policies and assess existing ones.
  • Evaluate new accounting standards and pronouncements, developing and implementing adoption plans.
  • Perform the Company's annual impairment analysis for goodwill and intangible assets.
  • Collaborate with the Company's external auditors regarding significant technical accounting matters.
  • Support additional projects as needed.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members by adhering to appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably a mix of Big 4 public accounting and accounting in private industry.
  • Experience in revenue accounting, including review of technical accounting for significant revenue contracts.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
