About the Role

The Diplomat/Care Monitor provides support and monitors the site to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents, reporting to the Site Manager. The role involves assisting with client needs, room preparation, meal delivery, and rule enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Refer operational, security, or client issues, including de-escalation needs, to the Site Manager.
  • Assist Site Managers with client needs, such as delivering toiletries, towels, linens, and escorting clients to rooms.
  • Engage participants to help orient them to the hotel site.
  • Deliver meals to participants' room doors.
  • Support monitoring the site and reporting violations of hotel/motel rules and regulations.
  • Prepare participant rooms for occupancy, including applying mattress covers, pillow covers, and stocking supplies.
  • Assist with setting up participant intake tables.
  • Perform light-duty cleaning and sanitation duties in common areas utilized by staff.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support site management.
  • Be flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well with diverse staff and clientele, considering cultural, language, sexual identity, gender, and other diversity factors.
  • Ability to work successfully both independently and cooperatively.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently in an environment with background noise and interruptions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information seen/heard at the emergency housing site.
  • Sign in and out daily.
  • Complete the Activity Log form for every shift.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the city and state political and community service environment.
  • Previous government relations, non-profit, and grassroots organizing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Non-profit experience working in local or state government is preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $25.00 per hour
