About the Role
The Morgan Library & Museum's Academic Year Internship program offers an introduction to museum and special collections library careers. Interns work with departmental staff on relevant topics and participate in professional development activities. The program particularly seeks candidates with diverse experiences and perspectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist with collection management processes, including physical survey, item identification, and inventory validation.
- Reorganize collection segments to facilitate secure and efficient transfer.
- Update and reconcile electronic records in the collection management system for location accuracy.
- Learn museum asset management software.
- Provide research support.
- Liaise with other departments for exhibition-related work.
Requirements
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; international candidates must be eligible to participate in a paid internship program in the United States.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A cover letter describing your interest in the internship, the museum or library field, and your future aspirations.
