About the Role

SimpleClosure is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer to help build Asset Hub, our marketplace for company assets like codebases, workspaces, proprietary data, domains, and talent. You will work across the stack to build tools and products for asset selling and buying, and to replace manual internal processes with technology to enable team scalability. You will be part of a small, dedicated Asset Hub pod, shipping in short cycles and owning features end-to-end, balancing frontend craftsmanship with backend problem-solving in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across Asset Hub, including the buyer portal for browsing and licensing codebases, workspaces, and domains, as well as the internal tools supporting these functions.
  • Implement clean, maintainable frontend experiences using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code and utilize AI tooling to enhance development speed.
  • Build and integrate backend services, APIs, and data models to support asset selling and buying, and to connect third-party and partner systems.
  • Replace manual internal processes such as asset intake, cataloging, pricing, and deal tracking with scalable tooling.
  • Own features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and iteration, including debugging and resolving production issues.
  • Work with sensitive materials including codebases, workspace exports, and proprietary datasets, ensuring strong attention to security, privacy, and PII handling.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and the GM of Asset Hub to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable taking projects from concept through deployment and iteration in an ambiguous, 0-to-1 environment.
  • Proactive, thoughtful engineer who can navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.
  • Strong team player who enjoys working cross-functionally, with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Thrives in an evolving startup environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience using AI dev tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) as part of your regular workflow.
  • Marketplace, B2B, or platform products experience is a plus.
  • Data-heavy products experience is a plus.
