About the Role
Design, develop, and improve software utilizing various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues. Focus on data, streaming, AI tooling, and system performance to drive next-generation trading desk algos and optimization tools. Create structure and design patterns for consolidating, controlling, and hosting Liquid Finance Quant and IT-owned optimization engines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and contribute to technology communities.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
- Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements.
- Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of organization functions to contribute to business goals.
- Collaborate with other work areas for business-aligned support.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience with Java, Python, SQL, Unix, Job Scheduling with Autosys, messaging, and technical documenting skills.
- Ability to take requirements from business stakeholders and turn them into deliverables.
- Experience working in a controlled environment and understanding the full software development life cycle.
- Intimate knowledge of JIRA and software change practice.
- Experience with GIT Lab Duo or any AI focused development environment.
- Stock Loan experience and working in financial services.
- Deep understanding of different asset classes and trading concepts.
- Assessment on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
