About the Role
Summerhill Market is seeking a skilled and reliable Meat Clerk / Butcher to join their Commissary team at their Railside location. This role is crucial for preparing and presenting high-quality meat products for customers.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare meats and poultry according to company standards
- Package and label products accurately for retail and prepared foods teams
- Ensure all items meet food safety and quality control standards
- Rotate stock, maintain accurate inventory, and minimize waste
- Maintain clean and sanitized workstations, tools, and equipment
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Work closely with kitchen and deli teams to fulfill internal orders
Requirements
- Previous experience as a butcher, meat clerk, or in food preparation is an asset
- Knowledge of safe meat-handling and sanitation procedures
- Strong attention to detail and product presentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
