About the Role

As a leader on the Store Management Team, the Assistant Store Manager ensures the highest level of customer engagement and sales results are achieved. This role assists the Store Manager with daily operations, driving sales, providing exceptional customer experiences, recruiting talent, and coaching the team. The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to enforce company policies and procedures and maintain store standards.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to overall store success by ensuring store and individual sales goals are met.
  • Assists with day-to-day store management and assumes responsibility for all daily operations in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Delivers exceptional customer experiences and drives sales through styling and wardrobing.
  • Represents the brand and ensures team members embody the brand in all interactions.
  • Builds client relationships and drives store sales through client outreach.
  • Communicates effectively with the Store Manager regarding goals, development, employee relations, and operations.
  • Assists with training, coaching, developing, and motivating the team to achieve maximum sales productivity.
  • Ensures store operations and policies & procedures are followed and enforced.
  • Assists with recruiting top talent to meet business needs and retain employees contributing to sales growth.
  • Assists with managing payroll and store scheduling within guidelines to ensure proper coverage.
  • Supports and executes directives from Visual Merchandising, Operations, and Marketing, ensuring communication to the store team and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Ensures Loss Prevention policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assists with financial/sales audits and inventories to protect the store from shortage.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related professional sales experience in specialty or luxury retail.
  • At least 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Career-driven with a strong work ethic and high performance standards.
  • High level of initiative/self-starter.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently operate a cash register while following cash handling procedures.
  • Must work weekend and night shifts.
  • Ability to climb ladders as needed.
  • Ability to bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional travel, often with little advance notice, may be required (including air and overnight travel).
