About the Role

Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS) is seeking highly engaged, positive, and professional security guards to play a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and protection of client assets. As a not-for-profit organization, CNS provides meaningful employment opportunities, particularly for veterans, and is recognized for its high-quality security services.

Responsibilities

  • Protecting people, property, and information
  • Conducting on-foot perimeter and search patrols (inside and outdoors)
  • Monitoring and responding to alarm and security systems
  • Ensuring the health and safety in the workplace
  • Adhering to CNS’ Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, systems, and practices
  • Respecting CNS policies, Site Work Instructions, and Site Supervisor’s direction
  • Patrolling, reception/administration, reporting, emergency management and access control

Requirements

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Have eligibility to work in Canada
  • Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check
  • Be eligible to apply for, and attain, a Government of Canada personnel security screening
  • Have a valid Nova Scotia's Driver's License, or reliable transportation to/from the worksites

Salary/Compensations

  • Average $19.50 per hour. Scale of compensation is variable, and reflective of site contracts.
