About the Role

As part of the analytics engineering team, you will provide clean, tested, and well-documented data sets using tools like Snowflake and Looker. You will collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure source data modelling meets downstream requirements, maintain and develop SQL data transformation scripts, and advise data scientists on data modelling for denormalized and aggregated output datasets. Additionally, you will surface clean datasets in Looker and optimize its adoption as a data product for approximately 1500 active users.

Responsibilities

Provide clean, tested, and well-documented data sets using tools like Snowflake and Looker.
Work with product engineering teams to ensure source data modelling meets downstream requirements.
Maintain and develop SQL data transformation scripts.
Advise and review data scientists on data modelling to achieve denormalized and aggregated output datasets.
Surface clean, intuitive datasets in Looker.
Responsible for optimization and further adoption of Looker as a data product.

Requirements

6+ years Analytics Engineering / Data Engineering / BI Engineering experience
Excellent SQL skills
Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling concepts and structuring new data tables
Knowledge of cloud-based MPP data warehousing (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
Experience developing in a BI tool (Looker or similar)
Good practical understanding of version control
SQL ETL/ELT knowledge, experience with DAGs to manage script dependencies
Python coding skills, particularly in the areas of automation & integrations
Good knowledge of the Looker API
