About the Role

The Technology Support Specialist I is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team, responsible for providing support for standard desktop, notebook, and remote computing issues, as well as hardware, customer-related services, printers, Multi-Functional Device (MFD) hardware and settings, and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) support. This role involves configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up PC and notebook computers, as well as printers, to initialize and stabilize their performance.
  • Configuring, deploying, and delivering mobility offerings, including iPhones, iPads, and other technology devices.
  • Performing regular maintenance on PC equipment, such as computers, notebook computers, printers, and peripherals.
  • Scanning computers for viruses.
  • Setting up conference rooms to use technology services (e.g., presentations, network connections, and audio/visual).
  • Performing daily checks of conference rooms to ensure all equipment is working properly.
  • Creating help desk tickets.
  • Notifying team members via email when taking an open request and when the request is completed.
  • Maintaining an inventory of PC hardware equipment and software programs.
  • Utilizing ServiceNow to track loaner equipment for distribution and recovery.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of standard hardware components and peripherals.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in software programs, including Windows 10 and Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical skills needed to troubleshoot a variety of symptoms, diagnose problems, and test, recommend, and implement solutions to technology problems.
  • Experience with installations and upgrades, training and technical documentation.
