About the Role
The Server is responsible for serving food in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner to guests in the dining establishment, lounge, and banquet functions. This role ensures food and beverage quality while delivering excellent guest service to create a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and guest service
- Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival
- Take drink orders and present the menu to guests
- Answer guest questions and provide suggestions
- Recommend wine selections when appropriate
- Relay orders to the kitchen and beverage services accurately
- Observe guests to anticipate additional needs and provide timely service
- Clear and reset tables after guest departure
- Complete assigned side work and ensure all work and storage areas are clean
- Understand and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safety compliance
- Assist with the setup, cleaning, and refreshing of function rooms when needed
- Attend department meetings to stay informed of service standards and expectations
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as trays
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs
- Flexibility to work nights, days, weekends, and holidays as needed
Skills
- Arithmetic for totaling costs and making change
- Strong communication skills
