About the Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the European Bond Index Team in London, supporting the newly formed European High Yield business. The role involves assisting portfolio managers in index construction, trade execution, and risk management, as well as contributing to the ongoing development of systematic portfolio management and trading capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and execute high yield and fixed income tangential securities (high yield bonds, credit futures, interest rate futures, CDS indices) with the sole objective of achieving best execution.
- Act as a liaison with outside bond vendors and develop and maintain strategic relationships with security dealers.
- Contribute to the ongoing electronification of fixed income markets.
- Act as backup in investment decision-making function to the portfolio manager.
- Monitor daily liquidity, credit exposures, and fund positioning.
- Ensure compliance with fund guidelines.
- Assist with flows and ETF creation/redemption requests.
- Suggest actionable relative value opportunities or assist in developing systematic capabilities to do so.
- Develop strategies to contribute to performance through efficient execution and quantitative research.
- Participate in product development initiatives for new UCITS high yield offerings.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years related work experience, including experience trading high yield markets.
- Extensive knowledge of trading venues and platforms.
- Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
Skills
- Proficiency in a coding language e.g. Python strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion to deliver investment performance.
