About the Role
Elmcor is seeking compassionate Residential Counselors to support individuals battling substance abuse and mental health disorders. You will play a vital role in guiding clients through their recovery journey with empathy and structured support.
Responsibilities
- Complete intakes, psychosocial assessments, and level-of-care recommendations
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client goals
- Facilitate one-on-one and group counseling sessions using evidence-based practices
- Provide ongoing support and structure throughout the recovery process
- Manage discharge planning and follow-up procedures
- Assist with fee collection, documentation, and shift coordination
Requirements
- CASAC certification with at least 1 year of experience OR CASAC-T with 2-3 years of experience
- Proficiency in evidence-based treatment models including MI, CBT, and CRAFT
- Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency including Outlook, Word, and electronic health record systems
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity and equity
- Flexibility to cover shifts with one month's notice
