About the Role
Responsible for providing fast, friendly, and courteous service to every customer while taking and serving beverage orders. This includes serving complimentary beverages to guests in slot and pit areas, and maintaining a professional work environment.
Responsibilities
- Take beverage orders from guests in assigned areas like dining rooms, lounges, or casino floors.
- Present beverage orders to the bartender and write checks properly.
- Present checks to guests, accept payment, and provide change.
- Maintain the server's station in a neat, clean, and sanitary condition.
- Be knowledgeable of casino promotions and events to answer customer questions.
- Inform customers about special events and other facilities.
- Maintain a current understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Garnish drink orders and deliver drinks to players.
- Balance trays with drinks weighing up to ten pounds.
- Announce "cocktails" and take drink orders from customers while circulating.
- Remember customers and their preferred drinks.
- Place drink orders at the service bar.
- Reach and bend between players to serve drinks, collect empty glasses, and clean ashtrays.
- Keep the service station clean and fully stocked.
- Make coffee when necessary.
- Refill straw containers and other containers.
- Walk continuously up and down short stairs or ramps.
- Detect when a customer is too intoxicated and should no longer be served.
- Clean up glasses in the surrounding area at the end of the shift.
Requirements
- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
- Must adhere to the SGC Shoe policy for all Beverage Cocktail Servers.
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment.
- Effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
