About the Role
Island Tech Services is hiring a full-time Auto Installer to build and custom outfit police, fire, and emergency response vehicles with essential equipment. This role involves hands-on, fast-paced work contributing to critical public safety services.
Responsibilities
- Perform custom installations of emergency lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, and other vehicle components.
- Wire and test electronic components to ensure proper function and safety.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems.
- Follow established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Document work performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and care for all tools and equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest vehicle upfitting technology and best practices.
Requirements
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
