About the Role

We are seeking creative, compassionate, and inspiring teachers to work with learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), complex learning difficulties and disabilities (CLDD), autism, and significant communication needs. This role focuses on personalized, engaging learning centered around individual strengths and needs, with a curriculum built around sensory, communication, and preparation for adulthood approaches. Teaching emphasizes developing learners' independence, communication, engagement, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

Teach learners with a wide range of complex needs.
Support learners to develop anticipatory skills and engagement.
Support learners to make choices and express preferences.
Support learners to build communication and interaction skills.
Support learners to develop emotional regulation and self-awareness.
Support learners to strengthen sensory processing and sensory regulation.
Support learners to increase independence in daily living activities.
Support learners to participate in community-based learning.
Support learners to improve physical development and mobility.
Support learners to develop confidence and social relationships.
Use assessment to identify small but meaningful steps of progress.
Adapt learning to meet individual learner needs.

Ability to recognise and celebrate small steps of progress and achievement.
Experience of working with learners with SEND, PMLD, autism, complex learning difficulties, sensory impairments, intensive interaction, sensory integration, or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) would be advantageous.
Willingness to develop specialist expertise.

Salary/Compensations

£32,264 - £42,569 / year
