About the Role

Coordinate and conduct general electrical repair work and troubleshooting, perform preventive maintenance, installation services, and construction work in accordance with safety standards and fire codes.

Responsibilities

• Performs layout, installation, repair, alteration, and maintenance of complex electrical equipment including automatic controls, emergency generators, switchboards, transfer switches, lighting systems, fire alarms, and smoke detection systems.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical problems, replaces defective parts, reassembles equipment, and tests for proper operation and safety.
• Performs scheduled or required preventive maintenance on all types of electrical equipment.
• Maintains work records, including equipment records, logs, and time sheets.
• Reads and interprets electrical schematics.
• Ensures work meets prescribed standards of quality and complies with all laws, safety procedures, policies, and codes.
• Detects and reports unusual conditions, defective materials, faulty equipment, and incorrectly installed or operating equipment to the Supervisor.
• Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement, cost savings, productivity/efficiency improvements, and safety improvements.
• Assists other maintenance personnel on projects as directed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years related work experience, including in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks.
• Must be familiar with the National Electric Codes, electrical theory, and comfortable working with high voltage three phase circuits, generators, transformers, and switchgear.
• Ability to use various testing devices related to the electrical and mechanical trades.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work as required.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment.
• Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.

Skills

• Working knowledge of electrical systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications used for compiling data and work records

Experience Level

• Minimum 2 years related work experience

Education Level

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

Salary/Compensations

• $75,000 to $79,040 annually
