About the Role
Gibson Dunn is a leading global law firm. The Billing Supervisor will be an integral part of the Billing team, responsible for the analysis, coordination, and resolution of complex billing issues, ensuring consistent communication with involved parties.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, motivate, and lead a team of 4 to 5 Billing Specialists and/or Assistants.
- Meet with Billing Specialists to review unbilled amounts, A/R, and on-account balances, identify issues, guide issue resolution, assist as needed, and keep the Billing Manager informed.
- Evaluate Billing Assistant progress to determine readiness for billing partner responsibility and oversee transitions.
- Meet regularly with Billing Assistants and Billing Specialists to identify areas for improvement and training opportunities.
- Ensure proper balancing and weighting of team members' workloads.
- Work with the Billing Management Team to identify required competencies, assess deficiencies, assist in developing training programs, and administer training.
- Provide consistent feedback to team members and updates to the Billing Manager.
- Assist Billing Manager in conducting mid-year and year-end performance evaluations.
- Manage WIP, A/R, and on-account inventories of assigned partners.
- Prepare and process legal invoices for assigned partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Promote the Billing Department’s Service Standards of Excellence.
- Administer vacation and over-time for team members in accordance with Firm policies and department protocols.
