About the Role

The post holder is responsible for providing effective support for the SEND Tribunals, Mediations and Resolutions Team. The post holder will be the first point of contact for the resolutions service, interacting with appellants, families, schools and relevant officers, requiring stakeholder management and a helpful, patient attitude. An acute attention to detail and efficacy when compiling information will be key, as the post holder will be responsible for securing, coordinating and submitting information on behalf of the local authority.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective support for the SEND Tribunals, Mediations and Resolutions Team.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the resolutions service.
  • Interact with appellants, families, schools and relevant officers.
  • Manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Secure, coordinate, and submit information, including evidence documents and witness statements, on behalf of the local authority.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of the work of a local authority SEND service, and the impact SEND has on children and families.
  • Strong administrative skills, proven by a work history in local authority administration.
  • Experience working to deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the statutory processes.
  • Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience of interacting with service users in a polite and courteous way.
  • Experience using Adobe and Excel (basic).
  • Experience working with databases.
