About the Role

Valhalla Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to provide personal, loving care to pets. This role involves a variety of medical and nursing tasks, with opportunities for training and career development.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint
• Triage incoming patients
• Collection and analysis of lab samples
• Diagnostic imaging
• Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
• Administration of medications
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
• Surgical preparation and assistance
• Anesthetic management
• Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
• Exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year experience preferred
• Must be able to properly restrain pets
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
• Hiring eligibility may be contingent to a candidate authorizing and completing a satisfactory background check
