About the Role

Revere Copper Products is seeking a Quality Technician in Rome, NY, to join a team focused on manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities

  • Inspect and sample raw materials, in-process material, and finished products.
  • Review and investigate quality defects, determining disposition of affected metal.
  • Perform capability studies on processes and equipment.
  • Conduct process inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Lab, and Engineering teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Cross-train in core QC Lab tasks and provide backup support.
  • Adhere to safety requirements, including PPE usage and safety observations.
  • Verify and replace calibrated measurement devices.
  • Support engineers in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Perform internal audits, document findings, and lead closing meetings.
  • Participate in meetings with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance.
  • Engage in Production and Quality Teams.
  • Manage workload and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement processes.
  • Create disposition for non-compliant product.
  • Inspect in-process material.
  • Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Sample and inspect incoming raw material.
  • Monitor Key Process Variables and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and modify Job Instructions, Quality Assurance Plans, and JIBs within the Revere Document Control System.
  • Utilize Process Deviations to track experiments or process variations.
  • Conduct regular process and behavioral observations for compliance.
  • Perform Capability and Control Statistical Studies with guidance.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to monitor process parameters.
  • Assist in the validation of quality systems, including MSA/Gage R&R studies.
  • Support QC lab and supervision as required.
  • Receive and log samples promptly.
  • Prepare samples for testing using heavy equipment.
  • Perform routine tests according to standard operating procedures using analytical and mechanical test equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Lab or Quality Technician in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with prior applicable work experience (Preferred).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of APQP methodology (Preferred).

Skills

  • Ability to work with heavy machine tools (milling, lathes, saws, shears, routers).
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem Solving skills.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Aptitude to understand on-the-job hazards.
  • Ability to learn and perform analytical chemistry tasks, metallurgical testing, and other routine lab testing.
  • Skilled in Math and use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Microsoft Word, PowerBI, and Excel.
