About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and support to each individual resident, ensuring their comfort and welfare needs are met in a warm, safe environment.
- Support residents in preparing for and transporting to Care Community events that promote a positive resident experience.
- Act as a resident companion, providing comfort, support, and companionship.
- Assist with table/tray preparation, serving beverages and accompaniments, and serving food.
- Complete laundry and housekeeping duties, including restocking shelves, making beds, transporting laundry, organizing closets, and cleaning bedside tables.
- Participate in resident admission, orientation, and transfer processes.
- Transport residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office, and dining room.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate and WHMIS certificate.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and visitors.
- Ability to model the warmth of human connection in communication.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants).
- Must meet provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
Skills
- Experience working with seniors is preferred.
