About the Role
Kepler Communications is seeking a top-tier FPGA Digital Designer Engineer Intern to contribute to the development of new generation satellites and earth stations. The RTL code written will be integral to our cutting-edge space technology.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and add new functionality to the FPGA codebase, including code for SDR and SDN control and testing.
- Design custom IP for new features of Kepler's satellites and ground stations.
- Add support for new sensors and communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).
- Work with high-speed FPGA interfaces such as JESD204b, 10G Ethernet, and Aurora.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Electrical or Computer Engineering degree program, or equivalent, with 2+ years of study.
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution and returning to studies after the internship.
- Available for a full-time, 4–16 month internship beginning January 2027.
- Preference for candidates who can work from the Toronto office at least 2–3 days per week, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
