About the Role
Medcan is seeking an AI Technical Specialist to support the design, development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of AI solutions across the organization. This role combines technical expertise with business understanding to help deliver secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions that improve client experience, clinical operations, and business efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, configuration, and implementation of AI solutions, including Generative AI, machine learning, automation, and conversational AI use cases
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and clinical requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and pilot solutions to validate business value
- Work with implementation teams to deploy solutions into production environments
- Monitor AI solutions to ensure reliability, performance, and user adoption
- Track system performance, model effectiveness, and operational metrics
- Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement
- Support testing, validation, and release management activities
- Ensure AI solutions comply with Medcan's privacy, security, and Responsible AI requirements
- Support AI risk assessments, documentation, and governance reviews
- Provide technical guidance and support to business and clinical teams
- Assist with change management and user adoption activities
- Communicate solution capabilities, limitations, and risks to non-technical audiences
Requirements
- 2 - 5 years of experience in technology, data, AI, analytics, or software development roles
- Experience implementing or supporting AI, machine learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI solutions
- Experience working with APIs, enterprise applications, and system integrations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including ML Engineers, Data Solutions Leads, and Integration Engineers
Skills
- Understanding of agentic AI, machine learning, Generative AI, and large language models (LLMs)
- Familiarity with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI platforms
- Experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, and data integration concepts and data processing tools (Pandas, SQL, Spark)
- Develop documentation, training materials, and technical knowledge resources
- Familiarity with MLOps, model monitoring, and AI lifecycle management concepts

Salary/Compensations
- $82,543.00 - $113,495.50 CAD annually
