About the Role

This role sits within the Fund Product team, and presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing group, which develops and oversees a variety of commingled funds offered to a diverse set of Wellington’s clients from over 50 countries worldwide. The Funds Group is responsible for the end-to-end fund lifecycle spanning the full range of Wellington’s product offerings globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of regulatory documentation creation, oversight, and maintenance for the WMF Global business.
  • Act as the point-person for creating or maintaining legal and regulatory documentation for various fund activities across multiple fund structures and domiciles.
  • Support the development of funds and related change activity, and ad-hoc strategic or regulatory projects.
  • Project manage the end-to-end process for prospectus cycles, including new fund approvals and fund changes, working with external legal counsel and regulators.
  • Lead and evolve processes for efficiencies as the company expands into new distribution markets.
  • Establish consistency and quality across fund offering documents and shareholder notices.
  • Embed a control and oversight process in partnership with legal, external counsel, and vendors.
  • Enhance coordination and communication around documentation updates, regulator comments, client notifications, and implementation updates.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors responsible for registration and publication of fund documentation.
  • Coordinate internal communication summarizing upcoming changes and implementation items.
  • Provide general fund expertise and act as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders for client-specific queries.
  • Lead or assist with ad hoc Fund Product projects, including annual fee and prospectus reviews, seed capital and share class reviews, EMT and EET production and dissemination, and commercial and fiduciary reviews.
  • Assist with the management of EMT (European MiFID Template) and EET (European ESG Template) production and dissemination.

Requirements

  • Over 3 years of experience working within asset management or a related industry.
  • Hands-on experience with legal or regulatory documents and content creation.
  • Direct experience working in a product/legal role, with proximity to fund vehicles.
  • Project management experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Willingness to take initiative, demonstrate accountability and ownership.
  • Good judgment about when to seek a wider audience.
  • Desire to evolve as an individual contributor and expand the role over time.
