About the Role

As the Evening Summer Lead, Sport Programming, you will be at the centre of creating sport programs, communicating with youth, staff, and community partners, and working with research and partnerships teams to ensure evening summer programming has the intended impact. This is an 8-week contract position from July 6 to September 4, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and updating of MLSE LaunchPad Sport For Development evening summer programs, focusing on physical literacy, life skills, and FUN. Include a focus on Ready for Work skills for the 15-18 age group.
• Oversee the execution of in-person MLSE LaunchPad programs, coaching and supporting staff and youth, liaising with community partners and coaches, and supporting program delivery.
• Lead the administrative components of evening summer programming, including budget, staffing, program and partner logistics, referees, gear, and prizes.
• Measure key outcomes in collaboration with the Measurement and Evaluation Team to inform program refinement and growth.
• Support a team of hourly staff and community coaches by ensuring they are informed, supported, and coached in their development.
• Participate in special projects and other related duties as required.
• Champion core values by setting the tone for the space and its people.

Requirements

• Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Outlook (email), Excel, and Microsoft Word for creating programming, communication, and tracking information.
• Strong collaborator with an understanding of interdependencies within a team.
• Clear, confident, and thoughtful communicator with staff, community partners, coaches, stakeholders, and youth.
• Experience supervising staff, prioritizing their sense of belonging, buy-in, happiness, and wellbeing.
• Understanding of physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, and their importance in a youth sport context (or willingness to learn).
• Commitment to addressing inequities in sport, particularly for racialized and marginalized communities, and breaking down barriers to youth access.
• Familiarity with applying anti-oppressive and anti-racist principles to work and engaging in continued learning.
• Belief in the power of sport to change the world.
