About the Role
Support the service and tire team by assisting in driving sales across service labor, parts, tires, and fleet business. Provide selling and task support to ensure the service repair business is organized, operations are efficient, and shop productivity meets company standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in customer care, work order and register assistance, facility maintenance, and merchandising activities, including tire stocking.
- Ensure service equipment is in proper working order and housekeeping standards are followed.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures for point of sale transactions, inventory integrity, reverse logistics, cash handling, and procurement.
- Collaborate with management to address customer service issues, complaints, and business opportunities.
- Drive sales goals through personal customer engagement and by coaching service advisors.
- Assist in training and coaching service selling associates on customer care processes, courtesy vehicle inspections (CVIs), and store systems.
- Perform CVIs and other service-related tasks as qualified and directed.
- Monitor shop productivity, workflow, and procedures for efficiency, thoroughness, and safety.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the back shop, ensuring service staff complete CVIs.
- Partner with management to create a safe and healthy work environment compliant with laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with store associates, management, and customers.
- Act as the primary supervisor for store staff in the absence of management, coordinating operational activities.
- Serve as a key holder and perform opening and closing responsibilities.
- Maintain an organized and neat shop.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in an automotive service environment.
- One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts for calculations.
- Ability to apply mathematical formulas to calculate commissions and discounts.
- Previous work lead or supervisor experience.
- Ability to exercise judgment and work independently.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
- Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques.
- Strong cash handling skills, including the use of POS systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent standing and walking for long periods.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Ability to climb ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment.
- Ability to enter and locate information on a computer.
- Ability to present information to small and large groups.
- Ability to visually verify information, often in small print.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
