About the Role
This paid internship program allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while applying classroom learnings. The hybrid program offers in-office experience approximately 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Brand Marketing team with research and brainstorms to create market opportunities for clients.
- Assist in the management and data upload/tracking of client deliverables.
- Assist the Brand Marketing team with confidential client projects.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the coordination and planning process of marketing events and/or appearances for clients.
- Learn the process of negotiation and execution of marketing contracts and/or appearances.
- Learn the process of pitching new brands/clients.
- Learn how to build and maintain positive client relationships that result in enhanced partnerships and increased ESM opportunities.
- Assist Brand Marketing team with research and brainstorms to create sponsorship activation, hospitality, and marketing initiatives.
- Learn how to develop ideas for engaging event branding, collateral, and on-site materials.
- Learn how to create planning tracking tools and on-site materials: rooming lists, confirmation documents, food and beverage schedule, transportation manifest, etc.
- Conduct research, analysis and provide recommendations in an effort to gain greater knowledge of our industry.
- Support the day-to-day management of Excel Sports Management (ESM) Brand Marketing clients across all sponsorship marketing and activation initiatives.
- Facilitate and support the daily client interaction across brand, property and agency partners to support the sponsorship function and associated programming.
- Support in the development of creative platforms and new consumer engagement activations across current and future client sponsorship opportunities.
- Coordinate client-vendor relationships and necessary activation deliverables on behalf of clients.
- Learn how to create activation briefs, recaps, event itineraries and staff plans.
- Assist in the planning and support client status calls which include scheduling, preparing agendas, and creating/maintaining status documents.
- Support teammates across the group to ensure flawless client-service and a second-to-none agency experience.
- Gain access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings.
- May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Brand Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.
Requirements
- Must be available to work under 30 hours per week.
- Must be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.
- Must have senior standing in college (completed junior year of undergrad) OR be enrolled in a graduate school OR have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
- Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
