Responsibilities
- Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment to ensure optimum patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Prioritize customer service, treating patients, visitors, and co-workers professionally with courtesy and tact.
- Effectively communicate SBH services and ensure concerns reach the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Maintain adequate levels of supplies and instruments in each operatory.
- Keep operatories hygienic and in functioning order, reporting non-working equipment to the supervisor.
- Provide healthcare instructions to patients and take vital signs.
- Assist doctors in direct patient care, including greeting, seating, preparing materials, and performing four-handed dentistry.
- Prepare and set up the clinic for daily use, ensuring cleanliness throughout the day.
- Anticipate clinician needs during clinical procedures to maintain practice flow.
- Assist in IV sedations.
- Complete Epic/Wisdom training as needed.
- Assist in the efficient transition of new doctors and dental assistants for better acclimation.
- Maintain an updated file of continuing education courses, including 12 hours annually and passing CPR.
- Work with dentists to ensure patient payment prior to work initiation.
- Be proficient in the Dentrix system, including scheduling, charting, taking digital x-rays, and documenting.
- Work as a team player and multitask efficiently.
- Utilize downtime productively.
- Participate in duties such as distributing supplies, cleaning the developer and laboratory, covering patient flow, assisting in instrument sterilization, and maintaining the code cart.
- Be responsible for returning all items (hand pieces, endo system, laser) in proper working order.
- Notify the supervisor about equipment problems or supply issues.
- Work with patients of all ages.
- Perform doctor's order requests and add results in EPIC (e.g., Glucose, pregnancy tests).
Requirements
- One year of experience in a private practice or clinic setting.
- Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency.
