About the Role

AECOM is seeking a professional skilled in company cornerstone systems to manage project cost data, analyze financial impacts, and track action items. This role involves utilizing drawings and specifications for baseline data, understanding accounting principles, and preparing cost forecasts and progress trend analyses. The position also includes hands-on earned value monitoring, evaluating manpower and labor costs against budgets, and reviewing commitments and expenditures. The individual will manage tracking databases, understand project profit budgeting, and be involved in scope control, change management, and cost/schedule baseline creation. Familiarity with cost/schedule integration, critical path analysis, and performance measurement is expected, along with assisting in project reporting and cost review meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Represent cost data formats necessary to control the project.
  • Understand financial terminology and measures.
  • Recognize the financial impact of various project actions.
  • Analyze and use financial data to identify key project issues.
  • Assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasks.
  • Track action items.
  • Use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.
  • Understand accounting principles and how the company establishes and documents financial position.
  • Prepare revised cost forecasts for select accounts.
  • Prepare analysis of progress trends and cost impact.
  • Participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.
  • Work hands-on with earned value monitoring.
  • Evaluate manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
  • Prepare variance analysis.
  • Compare actual costs to funding limitations.
  • Prepare expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding.
  • Review purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures.
  • Maintain tracking databases to ensure subcontractor funding aligns with work authorization and expenditures.
  • Understand how profits on projects are budgeted and the extent to which budget value is achieved.
  • Possess knowledge of scope control and change management.
  • Be involved in the tracking system to ensure project management is aware of detailed change order status.
  • Create and assist with cost/schedule baseline budgets.
  • Be familiar with basic cost/schedule integration and basic critical path analysis and other rescheduling concepts.
  • Conduct or assist in performance measurement and associated cost trending.
  • Prepare and assist in various levels of project reporting.
  • Participate in and may lead project cost review meetings.
  • Assist in procedure development and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6.
  • Define work breakdown structures (WBS), dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Produce baseline schedules, monitor progress, and manage schedule change control.
  • Forecast resource demand and align plans with delivery and operational teams.
  • Identify schedule risks, constraints, and mitigations.
  • Generate progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders.
