About the Role

The Inspector NDE I (RT) performs inspections with supervision and mentoring. Qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and interpret and evaluate results as per applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Should be familiar with technique limitations. Organizes and reports results. Exercises assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and Level I personnel. Inspects components, assemblies, and related paperwork to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Ensures that no non-conforming or rejected product gets shipped to the end user or customer. Focused on providing the highest quality products to customers. This is a second shift position.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections with supervision and mentoring.
• Sets up and calibrates equipment.
• Interprets and evaluates results as per applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Organizes and reports results.
• Provides on-the-job training and guidance to trainees and Level I personnel.
• Inspects components, assemblies, and related paperwork to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Ensures that no non-conforming or rejected product is shipped.
• Utilizes drawings and specifications to develop a plan for basic manual inspections.
• Evaluates parts to ensure they meet specified requirements per inspection plans.
• Completes the inspection step on the router to indicate pass/fail and note time.
• Performs dimensional inspection on precision machined products and assemblies unassisted.
• Follows instructions – oral and/or written.
• Reads all blueprints and work instructions.
• Provides instruction and guidance to assisting employees.
• Participates in training of welders and other department employees of lesser classification.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor.
• Works may require use of scaffold, ladders, forklift, and/or scissor lift.
• Maintains a clean work area with no clutter.
• Practices safety at all times.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Speaks up when others are non-compliant.
• Wears all required safety equipment.
• Keeps an open mind to continuous improvement suggestions.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work overtime as required.
• Local travel may be required.

• Proficiency in MS office applications including spreadsheet, enterprise resource planning, database, and specialized application software.
