About the Role
Supervise staff who provide daily therapeutic care and programming according to agency policy and governing body standards and requirements. Report to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Supervise program activity to achieve treatment plan goals.
- Supervise and evaluate residential staff.
- Work assigned shifts, including variable shifts.
- Work within the staff-to-youth ratio on the unit.
- Act as a role model for less experienced staff.
- Maintain records.
- Participate in and seek out training opportunities for residential staff.
- Attend residential staff meetings.
- Understand and apply treatment models used with youth.
- Maintain safety and a supportive environment for youth progress.
- Create a family-friendly unit environment.
- Ensure staff treat family members with respect and address their concerns.
- Ensure staff treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
- Maintain the physical order of the building and therapeutic environment.
- Develop and maintain schedules for the assigned campus residential unit.
- Evaluate youth referred for residential care.
- Participate in the on-call system.
- Participate in the financial responsibilities of the residential unit.
- Participate in and organize special events and services.
- Oversee and transport clients for essential needs.
- Coordinate treatment plan implementation with clinical staff.
- Assist in crisis intervention.
Requirements
- Requires an Associate’s degree plus three years of experience, OR HS plus at least five years of experience.
- Related experience with vulnerable populations and older adolescent population is required.
- Must have supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to manage a residential unit.
- Required to maintain TCI certification.
- A valid driver’s license and meet agency insurability standards for using agency vehicles and transporting youth.
- Must pass physical.
