About the Role
The Director IT Audit is an integral part of the Internal Audit team, providing leadership and oversight of risk-based internal audits across applications, technology infrastructure, and third-party relationships. This role is instrumental in transforming and elevating the IT audit function, offering independent assurance and advisory services over enterprise data, system portfolio delivery (including AI projects), and cybersecurity risks for sophisticated multi-Cloud technology infrastructures. The Director will lead a specialist team, including co-sourced resources, and assume people leader responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of key IT audits, ensuring coverage of key technology risks and alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Deliver high-quality audit and advisory engagements, including clear, concise reporting of findings and recommendations to senior executives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including CIO, CISO, Technology Risk, and external auditors.
- Provide subject matter expertise in integrated business audits involving technology risk.
- Oversee audit team performance, providing coaching, direction, and quality review.
- Drive innovation in audit practices through data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques.
- Contribute to the development of frameworks aligned with leading standards (e.g., NIST, COBIT, IIA).
- Foster a high-performance team culture focused on engagement, inclusion, and continuous development.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of IT risk and control frameworks (COBIT, NIST).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and enterprise systems.
- Experience auditing large-scale technology programs, including Agile and DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with risks in wealth and asset management.
- Experience leveraging data analytics and AI in audit delivery is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in managing audit delivery through a co-sourced audit relationship is highly preferred but not mandated.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to articulate complex risk issues clearly and influence decision-making.
- Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

- Professional certifications in audit /assurance service management (such as CIA, CISA) and/or information security (such as CISSP, CRISC, or CISM).
- AI audit-related certifications (e.g., ISACA AAIA) are an asset.
Salary/Compensations
- $128,000 - $178,000
