About the Role

The Manager, Planning and Purchasing, oversees the company's supply chain, inventory strategies and procurement activities. This role balances customer demand by forecasting needs, sourcing reliable vendors, and reviewing demand and supply to mitigate supply chain risks.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical sales data and market trends to forecast future inventory needs.
  • Develop metrics to gauge inventory levels, prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs.
  • Adhere to company policy in dealing with vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production and finance teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Establish contingency plans to ensure supply, mitigate disruptions and manage operational risks.
  • Lead the team in projects to improve efficiency, including process mapping and inventory optimization.
  • Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, and performance review of team members.

Requirements

  • 8 - 10+ years in manufacturing, planning, and other operational processes (purchasing, engineering)
  • Experience leading and managing diverse teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with production and planning processes
  • Ability to foster excellent supplier relationships
  • In-depth understanding and success implementing safety protocols and best practices
  • Experience in developing automation tools in planning and production is highly desirable.
