About the Role
Five Below is seeking passionate, customer-service-oriented individuals to join our team as part-time Sales Associates. In this role, you will be at the center of the action, driving sales and ensuring an amazing customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple customers efficiently.
- Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
- Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability.
- Promote store events, promotions, and special activities.
- Resolve customer concerns courteously and professionally.
- Offer alternative solutions and turn returns into exchanges when possible.
- Inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives.
- Operate cash register.
- Move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet.
- Ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
- Kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock rooms and on the sales floor.
- Communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers.
- Move across the sales floor assisting customers and retrieving/putting away merchandise.
- Identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
- Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Requirements
- At least 16 years old.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts and travel.
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices).
- Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers.
- Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally.
- Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
- Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
