About the Role

CrowdStrike is seeking a highly-technical, hands-on Senior Engineer for the Data Services team to advance their database systems. This role involves working with data plane services like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and Kafka, and building automation for large-scale cloud-based critical systems. The company emphasizes a mission-driven approach, leveraging AI and fostering a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption.

Responsibilities

Maintain a deep understanding of data components including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
Operate and automate properly configured clusters using in-depth knowledge of data components.
Develop infrastructure services to support a full devops model for the engineering team.
Troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues in collaboration with Engineering and Customer Support.
Ensure the safety, security, and availability of petabytes of critical business data.

Requirements

Configuration management experience with Chef, Salt, or Kubernetes, or strong Ruby experience.
Experience with large-scale datastores using technologies like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and mySQL.
Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
Experience operating within cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services, GCP, or OCI.
Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
Track record of making sound decisions, especially under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A combination of confidence and independence, with the prudence to seek help when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, such as Computer Science, CIS, or Engineering.
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
