About the Role

Join us as an Investment Banking Analyst - Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging ("REGAL") at Barclays where you’ll have the chance to provide innovative financial solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. You will be working on a variety of assets and assignments across the sector, while supporting the REGAL team. You’ll make use of your communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring fast and unparalleled customer service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs, expectations, and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
  • Generate ideas and identify opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies, and sustainable finance opportunities.
  • Perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements, and coordinating team resources (if applicable).
  • Develop technical expertise in work area, acting as an advisor where appropriate (for individual contributors).
  • Partner with other functions and business areas.
  • Take responsibility for end results of a team’s operational processing and activities.
  • Escalate breaches of policies/procedure appropriately.
  • Take responsibility for embedding new policies/procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
  • Advise and influence decision-making within own area of expertise.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work owned or contributed to.
  • Deliver work and areas of responsibility in line with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
  • Maintain and continually build an understanding of how own sub-function integrates with function, alongside knowledge of the organization's products, services, and processes within the function.
  • Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organization's sub-function.
  • Make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
  • Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside the team and external to the organization.

Requirements

  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise.

  • Experience with Financial Modeling and Evaluation.
  • Experience dissecting income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and debt transactions.
  • Experience supporting M&A, IPO, and secondary offering processes.
  • Experience with Corporate Finance.
  • Experience with Coverage of REGAL.
  • Ability to comprehend technical real estate concepts.
  • Understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques.
  • This role is regulated by FINRA.
