About the Role
The RIT Inn & Conference Center is seeking a dedicated individual to provide excellent guest services and support various hotel operations, including banquet setup, maintenance, and custodial tasks. This role offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Provide pleasant and professional services to all hotel guests.
- Set-up and tear down of banquet event tables, chairs, and A/V.
- Assist Rooms Manager with hotel projects including repairs, remodels, carpet and floor care, and painting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all banquet halls, storage, and service areas.
- Assist Rooms Manager with West Tower student room flips twice annually.
- Assist Engineering department with preventative maintenance and projects as needed.
- Perform custodial work within the context of assigned repairs.
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with staff for cooperation and service excellence.
- Properly maintain all work equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries with sensitivity and immediacy.
- Comply with all department, hotel, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform any task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively read, write, or speak English.
- Ability to provide, receive, and comprehend verbal or written instructions and information.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, planning, problem solving, and communication.
- Must present an appropriate public presence in grooming, dress, poise, and social etiquette.
- Must be able to work independently or with others.
- Proper social demeanor, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and passion for serving others is essential.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must have adequate communication and hearing skills.
- Must have adequate vision with or without corrective lenses.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to stand drastic temperature changes.
- Previous banquet event set-up experience preferred.
- Open availability required including weekends.
