About the Role
Assists the Manager in providing support to the associates in the Patient Access/Scheduling department during their shift, assuming responsibility for daily department operations and serving as a point of contact for problem-solving and communication.
Responsibilities
- Performs all functions of a Patient Access Professional.
- Assists the Manager in providing support to the associates in Patient Access/Scheduling department during their shift.
- Assumes responsibility for the daily department operations during shift.
- Serves as a point of contact for answering questions and helping to solve problems identified by the Patient Access/Scheduling team.
- Services as a point of contact during shift for associates to communicate any scheduling issues or changes that arise.
- Coordinates and completes the monthly staffing schedule for all shifts to ensure proper coverage.
- Provides input to Manager for associate performance evaluations.
- Performs daily/weekly/monthly regulatory and compliance audits and reports findings.
- Provides outstanding service to all patients, visitors, internal and external customers.
- Demonstrates a positive and professional image at all times.
- Ensures accurate patient demographic and insurance information is received and verified for timely billing and proper reimbursement.
- Follows all Federal and State regulations associated with the registration process.
- Completes other tasks assigned by Manager.
Requirements
- Energetic individual that demonstrates knowledge in customer service is required.
- Secretarial experience with strong organizational skills required.
- Excellent history of public/patient relations and strong communication skills is required.
Skills
- Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to McKesson Paragon, EPIC and Microsoft Office products is preferred.
- Medical terminology is desired.
Experience Level
- 3-5 years’ work related experience required.
- 2 - 3 years of previous registration experience desired.
- 3 - 5 years of previous secretary/clerical medical office experience desired.
Education Level
- Associates Degree preferred
- Medical terminology is desired.
Salary/Compensations
- $18.90 - $23.10/hr
