About the Role

Grider Support Services, LLC, a partner of Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), seeks a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality patient care and assist with medical procedures within our community healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as manual blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and pulse.
• Assist with patient assessments and documentation of medical histories.
• Maintain equipment used in patient care.
• Observe and monitor patient condition and document findings according to nursing standards.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to internal and legal regulations.
• Assist with examinations and in-office treatments by providing instruments and materials to providers.
• Administer immunizations and injections; may perform EKG testing, pulse oximetry testing, and phlebotomy.
• Transport patients in acute, outpatient, and long-term care facilities.
• Teach and/or assist with patient and family health care education as outlined in the care plan.
• Inform nurse or manager of any changes to patients' current status.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive organizational experience.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possession of a license and current registration to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the New York State Education Department.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• 1-2 years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.

Skills

• Strong clinical skills with proficiency in taking vital signs, administering medication, updating patient chart information, and assisting with minor procedures.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
• Ability to perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and manage follow-up care.
• Critical thinking.
• Time management.
• Strong communication.

• Ability to handle various clinical situations.
