About the Role
As a Technical Program Manager on the PlayStation Network Platform team, you will lead release program advancement, progress and risk management, and process improvement. You will act as a liaison between teams, clarifying complex dependencies and ensuring smooth releases of valuable features for developers.
Responsibilities
- Support daily engineering team operations, manage progress, and organize tasks, dependencies, and issues.
- Drive the release management program for the Network Platform.
- Operate and propose improvements for development and release processes.
- Collaborate with domestic and international teams to plan and execute releases.
- Define requirements, milestones, deliverables, and create schedules, risk, and communication plans.
- Manage development and QA progress, confirm quality, and coordinate/report for release approval.
- Visualize and share overall program progress, issues, risks, and decisions with stakeholders.
- Understand technical requirements and design, supporting engineering team planning and execution.
- Organize issues from policy and security perspectives and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Promote process improvements through retrospectives and Root Cause Analysis.
- Communicate with and drive programs for global development teams.
Requirements
- Experience driving programs in collaboration with engineering teams within software development projects or Technical Program Management.
- Experience managing plans, progress, issues, and risks in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of Agile or Waterfall development processes.
- Hands-on experience with release planning, requirements gathering, milestone management, and QA/approval processes.
- Technical aptitude to understand technical requirements and designs and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
- Communication skills to resolve issues through consensus building with stakeholders.
- Judgment to appropriately visualize issues and risks and escalate when necessary.
Skills
- Scrum Master certification or practical experience as a Scrum Master/Agile Facilitator.
- Development and operational experience with cloud services, development platforms, or Developer Platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, release management, QA, operations, security, and compliance.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Work experience in the game industry or strong interest in games/entertainment.
- Experience working with overseas teams using English.
- Communication skills in English for meetings, facilitation, document creation, and status reporting.
- Smooth communication skills in Japanese.
