About the Role

Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is seeking an Ophthalmologist to provide ophthalmological care to patients in Ambulatory Clinics. This non-surgical position focuses on ophthalmic care for patients, with opportunities to operate with residents if desired. The role involves providing reasonable and prudent medical care, appropriate management, and sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine, addressing conditions, illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the eye and its related structures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ophthalmological care to patients in Ambulatory Clinics.
  • Focus on ophthalmic care for patients in an office-based practice.
  • Provide reasonable and prudent medical care.
  • Practice appropriate management.
  • Use sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine.
  • Provide medical services within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing.
  • Address conditions, illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the eye, including its related structures and visual pathways.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited Medical School.
  • Documented completion of Residency training from an accredited institution.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility.
  • Board certification must be attained within the timeframe dictated by one’s specialty in order to remain on staff at the CS-HHC if one was originally board-eligible at the time of one’s hire.
  • Connecticut Licensure.
  • Admitting privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital, HSR, and/or Griffin Hospital as indicated.
  • Experience with Pain Management.
  • Experience using EPIC.
  • Comfortable working with the underserved community.
