About the Role

Project Designers at MG2 assist with the generation of original design concepts, primarily for new construction and major renovations. They are key contributors to all phases of the design process, communicating ideas graphically and verbally, and producing construction documents and other design deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the generation of original design concepts and completion of design deliverables including preliminary design documentation, conceptual plans and elevations, 3D renderings, and exhibits.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive design documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with architectural and design staff on projects of various types and scale.
  • Coordinate project deliverables with external consultants and project partners.
  • Conduct design research from a wide variety of benchmarking sources for ideation.
  • Provide detailed design documentation to architectural project teams.
  • Actively contribute to QA/QC reviews of design deliverables and architectural construction documents.
  • Assist with generating project specifications.
  • Perform research of building products and materials and coordinate with Interior Designers.
  • Contribute to the execution of Construction Administration procedures including review of design related RFIs and project submittmits.
  • Contribute to the production of design deliverables used in RFP/RFQ responses and marketing proposals.
  • Actively participate in efforts to build and support a design culture at MG2.
  • Produce accurate and timely work in accordance with project schedules and workplans.
  • Ensure work demonstrates understanding of design intent and comprehension of project budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in design production and 3D visualization.
  • Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
  • Experience selecting both interior and exterior materials.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Salary/Compensations

  • $70,000 to $85,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
