About the Role

We are building a brand-new engineering hub in London and are looking for foundational Senior Backend Software Engineers to help us kick it off. This is a unique opportunity to join a completely new team, build a new hub from scratch, and work remotely from the rest of our global Tech organization. You will be an integral part of this new product team, helping to define, build, and deliver product features. Your mission will be to help refine, design, implement, deliver, and maintain an international top-class product, ensuring quality, maintainability, and sustainability. As a senior member, you will serve as a technical anchor, taking full ownership of complex backend challenges, partnering closely with your Lead Engineer to set high quality standards, and helping guide mid-level engineers as the hub grows.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve backend services and infrastructure to stay ahead of the growth curve.
Develop new features for customers and partner businesses.
Actively participate in agile development processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strive to deliver international top-class products with maximum quality, maintainability, and scalability.
Take on additional tasks outside current boundaries with team support to grow and expand skills.
Take ownership of complex backend features end-to-end, driving efficient technical design, high test coverage, and smooth deployments in collaboration with the Lead Engineer.

Requirements

A wealth of experience in Backend development with the Java ecosystem.
Proven production experience with Java, SpringBoot, MySQL, Message System & GIT.
Experience with Domain Driven Design, and Clean, or Hexagonal Architecture.
Knowledge of AWS services (SQS, SNS, S3…), ElasticSearch, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes.
Experience with Restful APIs.
Proven ability to break down ambiguous technical tasks into clean, production-ready code independently.
Experience with building scalable solutions.
Enjoys actively participating in a cross-functional product team.
Takes pride in writing quality code.
