About the Role
The Innovation Manager supports the Director of Innovation to execute core parts of the innovation strategy by embedding improved delivery practices and test-and-learn capabilities across Impact on Urban Health and, where relevant, the wider Foundation, overseeing a priority set of cross-IoUH and within-programme innovation projects.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Innovation to identify areas for change or improvement within the organisation, developing strategies that consider the organisation’s culture, structure and operational workflow.
- Identify key stakeholders affected by proposed changes and develop engagement plans, facilitating workshops or meetings to gather input and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to implement changes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget, while utilising project management tools and methodologies to track progress and address issues.
- Develop prototypes or pilot programmes to test the feasibility and impact of proposed changes, designing and implementing testing methodologies to gather data and inform further decision-making.
- Find and test existing or new tools for solving current challenges before implementation to ensure suitability.
- Develop and deliver training programmes to educate staff on new processes, tools or methodologies resulting from changes, providing ongoing support to ensure effective adaptation.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to evaluate the impact of implemented changes, regularly monitoring and reporting on performance to make necessary adjustments.
- Implement mechanisms for ongoing feedback from staff and stakeholders on the impact of changes, using feedback to make iterative improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify potential risks associated with innovation initiatives and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, preparing contingency plans for unforeseen challenges during implementation.
- Develop and execute a communication plan to keep all stakeholders informed about the progress of change initiatives, ensuring transparent and open communication channels to address concerns and provide updates.
- Ensure that change initiatives align with the organisation’s culture and values, working to enhance or evolve the organisational culture as needed to support innovation.
- Take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role.
Requirements
- A good knowledge of agile development, testing and prototyping, feedback loop creation and other relevant design methodologies
- Experience launching new programmes of work and trialling new approaches and projects
- Experience of managing projects that involve multiple stakeholders and teams
- Experience of facilitating meetings with colleagues from a range of different teams
- Experience of developing and delivering training
