About the Role
The Assistant Manager is second in command to the Store Manager, responsible for maintaining sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, store operations, and staff training and development.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the store exceeds profitability expectations and KPI targets by driving sales and motivating the team.
- Setting the overall store sales plan yearly, monthly, and daily by individual and department.
- Ensuring excellent customer service by executing the Customer Experience consistently.
- Analyzing sales across departments and categories to improve average basket, conversion, and overall sales.
- Identifying team strengths, weaknesses, and training needs, ensuring staff complete training and providing development.
- Recruiting, hiring, and retaining high-quality management and associates.
- Maintaining visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and store cleanliness.
- Meeting or exceeding profitability expectations in sales, payroll, and shrink conversion.
- Creating and executing strategies to maximize store sales and minimize expenses.
- Maintaining high communication levels with team members and conducting regular appraisals.
- Participating in all store meetings and related functions.
- Performing housekeeping and maintenance duties as required.
- Traveling and working from different locations when necessary.
- Maintaining standards in line with job requirements and current policies.
- Completing other duties as assigned by management.
- Working additional hours as required by the job.
- Adhering to procedures for the proper use and care of equipment and materials.
