About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially focused Newly Qualified Financial & Management Accountant to join our London-based finance team. This role will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, producing insightful management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial accounts in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation accounting.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including commentary on financial performance.
  • Analyse revenue, costs, profitability, and key business drivers across service lines.
  • Prepare variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Develop and enhance financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support decision-making.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
  • Build strong working relationships with department leaders and senior management.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and modelling.
  • Assist with business cases, investment appraisals, and ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and strengthen controls.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and governance requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA)
  • Proven experience in a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling.
  • Experience producing management accounts and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
