About the Role

Join the Risk Strategy Office, a new department leading transformation and setting priorities for the global Risk organisation. You will support the Head of Risk Strategy Office in developing and executing the global Risk strategy, with a primary focus on building dashboards to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the Risk Management Function.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dashboards for measuring effectiveness and efficiency of Risk Management function
  • Build and maintain dashboards for monitoring performance of local Risk domains
  • Build and maintain dashboards for monitoring development of costs of the Risk function
  • Support the Head of Risk Strategy Office in Global Risk (transformation) strategy development and monitoring of execution
  • Assist in preparing materials for Group CRO’s meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of Risk Management Function through dashboards, prepare analytical commentaries, identify and follow up on agreed actions for further improvement
  • Monitor costs (FTE and Expenses) for the Global Risk domain and closely align with Financial Controllers
  • Assist in preparing for meetings with CROs of universal banks
  • Participate in cross-functional and cross-country strategic and improvement initiatives
  • Suggesting improvements to processes and ways of working
  • Closely collaborate with key internal stakeholders
  • Assist in ad-hoc requests related to supporting Group CRO in various matters

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Econometrics or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Analytics roles
  • Proven experience in data management, including data modelling and the development of robust reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making
  • Prior experience in building (PowerBI) dashboards, visualisation and/or data storytelling
  • Demonstrable experience with data extraction and working with large datasets
  • Strong analytical thinking and data storytelling skills and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the confidence to respond to ad-hoc requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to collaborative team efforts
  • A structured approach to problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data quality
  • Experience in working with confidential topics

  • Global Risk organisation within ING is a Control function covering all key risk types ING is exposed to.
  • Group Risk organisation comprises of Risk functions for all material risk types such as Credit Risk, Financial Risk, Non-Financial Risk and Compliance, among others.
  • Risk Strategy Office is a newly established department as part of the Group Risk reorganisation to play a pivotal role in developing Risk strategies and setting priorities as well as overseeing its execution and implementation across the global Risk domain.
  • This department will lead the transformation across the global Risk organisation, orchestrate and coordinate central initiatives while managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and ensuring consistent approach across locations and functions while maintaining close alignment with the Group CRO through direct reporting line.
