About the Role
As Shopper Marketing Manager, you will develop and execute shopper-centric marketing strategies that drive brand performance at the point of purchase. You will bring a deep understanding of shopper behavior to every retail and ecommerce channel, turning that understanding into strong execution, accurate forecasts, and measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement in-store marketing strategies grounded in shopper insight and retail channel dynamics, working with retail partners on placement, merchandising and brand presence, and tracking in-store performance.
- Set competitive pricing strategy for assigned brands using market analysis, consumer research and price elasticity, monitor competitor pricing, and manage price positioning across channels and segments.
- Build annual and quarterly promotion calendars and mechanics that drive incremental sales while protecting brand equity, manage promotional budgets, and analyze ROI.
- Lead the monthly IBP (Integrated Business Planning) forecasting process for sellout volumes across retail and ecommerce, incorporating promotions, seasonality and market trends, and present forecast accuracy and variance to senior management.
- Lead end-to-end development of point-of-sale materials with creative agencies and suppliers, managing budget, timeline, production, distribution and quality.
- Conduct and translate shopper research, personas and journey maps into marketing activations and retail solutions, and track competitive shopper marketing activity.
- Plan and run integrated shopper marketing campaigns end to end in partnership with brand, sales, trade marketing, supply chain and finance, managing budgets and timelines and reporting on business impact.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years as an Assistant Brand Manager with a track record of executing brand campaigns.
- Experience with major retail chains in Japan, FMCG or consumer goods, trade marketing, supply chain or demand planning, and ecommerce or digital channels is a plus.
- Experience with pricing strategy, promotional planning, revenue management or demand forecasting is ideal.
Skills
- Strong analytical and financial acumen to interpret shopper, pricing, promotional and demand data.
- Solid project management, presentation and stakeholder influencing skills.
- A creative, execution-minded and results-oriented approach.
- Comfort with tools such as advanced Excel, market research and pricing platforms, forecasting and IBP systems (for example SAP APO or Oracle Demantra), and ecommerce analytics (for example Google Analytics or Amazon Seller Central).
