About the Role

The Tribe Lead Germany is responsible for the strategic, organizational, personnel, and technological leadership of a tribe within the German Technology Organization. The role holds overall responsibility for the successful development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the product and technology portfolio within their area of responsibility. The Tribe Lead ensures that Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and other specialist areas collectively form a high-performing, customer-oriented, and economically successful product organization. The role creates the framework for sustainable growth, high engineering and delivery performance, technological progress, and the achievement of company and product goals. The role acts as the central decision-maker for strategy, organization, prioritization, and transformation within the tribe.

Responsibilities

  • Effective management of investments, capacities, and priorities
  • Continuous technological modernization and risk minimization
  • Ensuring balanced prioritization between business value, innovation, customer benefit, technical stability, and sustainable development of platforms and products
  • Promoting technological innovation, reducing technical debt, and continuously improving processes, systems, and organizational structures
  • Leading, coaching, and developing managers and key roles within the tribe
  • Ensuring optimal use of investments to maximize business benefits and strategic goal achievement
  • Representing the tribe to Executive Management, business stakeholders, customers, partners, and international organizational units

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration, or comparable qualification
  • Many years of leadership experience in larger product, technology, or software organizations
  • Deep understanding of modern software development, cloud technologies, platform architectures, DevOps, and operating models
  • Experience in managing large transformation and modernization programs
  • Sound knowledge of organizational development, operating models, and governance structures
  • Experience in budget, resource, and investment management
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, prioritization, decision-making, and stakeholder management
  • High communication, leadership, and change management competence
  • Fluent German and English language skills
